Medication Administration Training
We will be offering a medication administration class for staff who regularly give medicine at school. This training is required for anyone who has not been grandfathered in as med-certified prior to 2016. It is 20 hours in length and is followed by an online test (2 hours are allowed to take it). Only staff members who will be administering medications regularly should take the class. Upon passing the exam, the staff member will receive a license through the SD Board of Nursing.
This class will be facilitated by Shana Stone, RN. It will be held on Monday and Tuesday, July 30-31 from 8am-4pm. The test will be the following Tuesday, August 7th from 8:30-10:30. (Location will be announced.) There is a required delay between the class and the test due to approval that must come from the SD Board of Nursing.
This training is free for Watertown staff recommended by their prinicpals to participate. Others are welcome to participate for a $65 fee. This can be counted with the unlimited summer sessions for $100 if participants wish to take other sessions during Watertown's Academy weeks. Participants must register separately for the medications class below. Class size is limited, and priority will be given to Watertown staff so please register early using the Register tab on this site.
